Like last year, Alsace's Trimbach comes out ahead, with a slew of Egon Müller and Weingut Keller wines tucked in behind. The outsider Breuer, however, sits in second place, with a spectacular rise in searches over the past year.

Georg Breuer's wine has a tendency to peak in popularity in March and April, but this year's peak has been impressive. In previous years it had never risen higher than 630 in our search rankings, but this year it has soared to 411th in the overall global rankings and second spot on this list. It has also appreciated substantially in its global average price, going from $177 last year to $275 today, a rise of 55 percent.
